The National Apex Committee Pakistan, led by Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, has taken a significant decision to expel foreigners who are residing in Pakistan illegally. This decision has been prompted by a recent surge in terrorist attacks across Pakistan, notably in places like Mastung and Hangu.
The meeting that led to this decision was chaired by the caretaker Prime Minister and attended by important figures including COAS General Asim Munir and the chief ministers of all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. High-ranking security officials were also present to provide information about the recent terrorist incidents in Pakistan.
During the meeting, there were discussions about the measures being taken to control terrorism within Pakistan, as well as actions against those who are living in the country without proper legal status. Notably, the committee decided to establish a deadline for these illegally residing foreigners to leave Pakistan. After this deadline, their properties will be confiscated.
On a related note, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism. He stated that Pakistan’s armed forces would continue their operations against terrorists without pause until the menace of terrorism is completely eradicated from the country. This announcement was made during his visit to Quetta, where he received briefings on recent terrorist attacks in places like Mastung and Zhob.
The briefing also saw the presence of Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, key provincial ministers, and senior civil and military officials. General Munir expressed deep respect for the martyrs of these attacks and pointed out that these incidents on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal reveal the harmful intentions of extremist groups, which are believed to be supported by state sponsors of terrorism.
