Petrol Prices Dropped by Rs 40 per Litre 

In Pakistan, there has been a significant drop in the price of petrol. The cost of petrol has been reduced by a substantial Rs 40 per litre, according to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority. The new price for petrol is now Rs 283.38 per litre, which is a decrease of Rs 40 per litre from the previous rate. 

Furthermore, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been lowered by Rs 15 per litre to reach Rs 303.18. In addition to this, the price of kerosene oil has seen a decrease of Rs 22.43 per litre, bringing it down to Rs 214.85. 

This reduction in petrol prices comes after a previous decrease of Rs 8 per litre on October 1st, when the petrol price was set at Rs 323.38 per litre. At that time, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) was lowered by Rs 11 per litre to Rs 318.18, and kerosene oil prices were reduced by Rs 7.53 per litre, reaching Rs 237.28. 

It’s important to note that on September 15, the government had raised petrol and diesel prices significantly, despite earlier promises to provide relief to the public. Petrol saw a substantial increase of Rs 26.2 per litre, bringing the price to Rs 331.38 per litre, while diesel had an increase of Rs 17.34 per litre, making the new price Rs 329.18 per litre. In just one month, the interim government raised petrol prices by Rs 58 per litre and diesel by Rs 56 per litre.
