Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his address at a ceremony, highlighted the importance of promoting skilled and technical education in Pakistan. He expressed his government’s unwavering support for this cause, noting that it would not only produce skilled human capital but also contribute to reducing the trade deficit through remittances from abroad.
To address class discrimination in the education sector, which aligns with the vision of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and philosopher Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, Shehbaz Sharif called for an end to such disparities. He discussed the initiatives undertaken by his government, including the establishment of a network of Danish Schools in Punjab. These schools aim to provide educational opportunities to deserving and underprivileged youth. Additionally, the government has disbursed billions of rupees in stipends to support nearly half a million students.
During the ceremony, the Prime Minister announced a grant of 100 million rupees and the provision of four air-conditioned buses for the university. These measures will further support the promotion of skilled education and enhance the learning environment.
Earlier, Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, Rana Tanveer Hussain, highlighted the pragmatic steps being taken to impart skills to the youth, enabling them to earn a dignified livelihood. He urged young individuals to pursue technical education as it aligns with the current needs of the country.
Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, also expressed her commitment to skill development. She announced that around one hundred thousand youths would receive skill development training this year, further emphasizing the government’s dedication to empowering the younger generation.
