3 Consecutive Holidays Expected Next Month

Students and government employees are likely to get three consecutive holidays owing to the public holiday on November 9, marking Iqbal Day.

Every year, November 9 is observed as Iqbal Day to mark the birth anniversary of the poet of the East and thinker of Pakistan, Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

According to the government calendar, November 9 falls on Monday this year, and with Saturday and Sunday weekly holidays preceding it, government employees are expected to get three consecutive days off.

Educational institutions will also remain closed from November 7 to 9, giving students a three-day break.

Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal was born in Sialkot on November 9, 1877. His birthday is celebrated as Iqbal Day.

On this day, educational, literary, and social institutions hold seminars, debates, and speech competitions to highlight Iqbal’s art, thought, and philosophy.
