KP Imposes Monthly Sanitation Fee

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to collect monthly sanitation fees as part of its cleanliness drive.

According to an official circular, the provincial government has notified the new fee structure.

Under the new plan, residential properties will be charged Rs100, Rs150, or Rs200, depending on plot size.

A flat monthly fee of Rs250 has been fixed for commercial shops.

Commercial entities, including hotels, petrol pumps, factories and major business centres, will pay a monthly fee of Rs1,000.

However, the provincial government has exempted mosques, seminaries, government schools and other special institutions from the fee.

The fee collection will begin at the start of next month, October 2026.

The provincial government has also urged citizens to cooperate by keeping their surroundings clean and disposing of garbage only at designated places.

Officials said the move aims to create a more effective sanitation and waste management system across urban areas.
