Islamabad Police Decides No FIRs for Traffic Violations After Arrival of New IG

Islamabad Police have directed traffic officers not to register unnecessary FIRs against citizens for traffic violations and instead deal with such offences through fines under the law.

DIG Islamabad Ali Wasim issued the instructions as part of measures to improve traffic enforcement and the conduct of traffic officers, according to the Islamabad Police spokesperson.

The DIG directed officers not to register cases under Section 279 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against citizens for traffic law violations.

He instructed traffic officials to impose fines in accordance with the law and avoid registering unnecessary cases against citizens.

Ali Wasim also directed traffic officers to maintain a polite, courteous, and responsible attitude while dealing with motorists.

At the same time, he urged citizens to fully comply with traffic laws and avoid violations. He said cooperation between citizens and traffic police was necessary to maintain smooth traffic flow in the capital.

The DIG emphasized that following traffic rules is essential for ensuring a safe and peaceful travelling environment.

The Islamabad Police have called on motorists to follow traffic regulations and cooperate with officers to improve road safety and traffic management across the city.
