Apple HomeView Details Surface Ahead of October 13 Event
Apple will unveil new smart home products on October 13, including its long-awaited HomeView control hub. A new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has revealed more details about the upcoming devices ahead of the event.
The HomeView will reportedly come in two designs. The standard countertop model will feature a metal speaker base and four color options: space gray, silver, starlight, and pink. Meanwhile, the wall-mounted version will be available in space gray and silver.
Both models are expected to use Apple’s A18 chip, which also powers the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16e. Previous reports suggest the HomeView will feature a 6-inch touchscreen display.
However, the device may have limited software support. It will reportedly include a small selection of Apple’s own apps, with no App Store for downloading additional applications. Apple is expected to begin shipping the HomeView in mid-November.
Alongside the smart home hub, Apple is expected to introduce a new HomePod mini powered by the S10 chip. The same chip is used in the Apple Watch Series 10, Series 11, Watch SE 3, and Watch Ultra 3. The updated speaker will reportedly come in pink, white, green, blue, and midnight colors.
Apple is also expected to announce an updated Apple TV streaming box with the A19 chip. The new model will reportedly feature an upgraded remote with a built-in speaker. Unlike the HomeView, the updated HomePod mini and Apple TV are expected to ship earlier. Both devices are reportedly scheduled to become available on October 30.
