Azerbaijan to Honour Shaza Fatima with Medal for Asan Khidmat Center Role

Pakistan’s Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, will receive a medal from the Government of Azerbaijan. She will be awarded the Medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan for “Effective cooperation with ASAN service.” The presentation will take place at the first UN Governance Innovation Summit in Baku.

Azerbaijan is recognising her work on building strong digital infrastructure in Pakistan. This infrastructure supports the country’s digital transformation and helps strengthen its digital economy.

Her most notable achievement was overseeing the setup of the Asan Khidmat Center in Pakistan. The project was completed in just 90 days, which is a record time for an undertaking of this scale.

The medal also acknowledges her role in building closer ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. As a result, the two countries have improved their cooperation in public service delivery. The award further highlights her direct involvement in carrying out the “PAK” initiative and helping it move forward.

The President of Azerbaijan established the medal by law on December 20, 2022. It is given to individuals who show effective cooperation and take an active part in preparing and carrying out important projects. These projects must fall within the work areas of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan.

The award is open to representatives of both Azerbaijani and foreign institutions who make a special contribution to advancing cooperation in these areas.
