KP Launches Province-Wide Campaign Against Child Sexual Abuse

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Child Protection and Welfare Commission (KPCPWC) has launched a province-wide awareness campaign to prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation and encourage responsible reporting of such cases.

The campaign aims to raise awareness among families and communities, improve early identification of risks, and strengthen coordination among relevant institutions to ensure better protection for children.

According to an official statement, the launch event was attended by government officials, development partners, civil society organizations, religious scholars, child protection stakeholders, media representatives, and children and adolescents.

Speaking at the event, KPCPWC Chief Ijaz Muhammad Khan highlighted the importance of community involvement in preventing child abuse and exploitation.

He stressed the need for greater public awareness, timely identification of risks, responsible reporting, and stronger cooperation among institutions to prevent and respond to abuse.

The initiative also seeks to bring together different segments of society to create a safer environment for children and protect them from abuse, exploitation, and other forms of violence.
