Woman Tests Positive for Mpox at PIMS Islamabad

A 41-year-old woman has tested positive for mpox at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad.

According to hospital sources, the woman was brought to PIMS last week after developing skin lesions on her face.

She was initially suspected of having mpox, and her samples were sent to the National Institute of Health in Islamabad for confirmation.

The NIH later confirmed that she had tested positive for the virus.

The patient, a resident of Shakrial in suburban Islamabad, is currently being treated in the hospital’s infectious control ward.

Hospital sources said her condition is improving and she is responding to treatment.
