AJK Announces Saturday Holiday for All Colleges

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department has officially introduced a five day working week in all government and private colleges across the region.

Under the new schedule, colleges will remain open from Monday to Friday, while Saturday and Sunday will be weekly holidays. The Higher Education Secretariat issued a formal notification announcing the change, which takes effect immediately.

The order applies to all government and private colleges under the administrative control of the Higher Education Department.

College administrations have been directed to ensure full implementation of the five day working week.

According to the department, colleges will continue their routine activities from Monday to Friday under the new schedule, with both Saturday and Sunday designated as holidays.
