Rawalpindi Gets New Parks

Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has said the PML-N government is providing modern parks and recreational facilities to the people of Rawalpindi to promote healthy activities.

He said providing a safe and healthy recreational environment for women and children was among the government’s priorities. He added that efforts were underway to provide basic facilities in every constituency and union council of Rawalpindi and accelerate the city’s development.

Hanif Abbasi made these remarks while addressing the inaugural ceremonies of Allama Iqbal Park and Milad Park. MNA Tahira Aurangzeb, Punjab Parliamentary Secretary for Emergency Services Ziaullah Shah, MPA Asma Naz Abbasi and a large number of PML-N workers were also present.

He said the newly established parks would offer citizens better and safer recreational facilities. He added that security arrangements, including surveillance cameras, had been installed, with special focus on the safety of women and children.

The federal minister said recreation, sports and healthy activities were essential for building a healthy and progressive society.

He also said work was underway to address gas, water, electricity and sewerage issues in Rawalpindi. According to him, old pipelines were being replaced and several development projects, including street and road rehabilitation, were in progress.

Hanif Abbasi said multiple public welfare projects had already been completed in Rawalpindi with the special attention of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, while work on other projects was continuing.

He said the government was using all available resources for the welfare of Rawalpindi residents and would continue projects to improve transport, recreation and basic civic facilities.

He also said Pakistan was a peaceful and secure country and credited the Pakistan Army for ensuring national security.
