RDA Takes Action Against Illegal Housing Schemes in Rawalpindi

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken action against illegal housing schemes, unauthorized construction and other violations in areas under its control.
Acting on the directions of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and RDA Director General Salman Ghani, the Enforcement Squad conducted operations at three locations.
The team targeted Downtown Morgah on Defence Road opposite Askari-14, a land subdivision near Dhok Nawaz Graveyard and an illegal housing scheme at Riaz Chowk in Morgah.
During the operations, the team demolished illegally constructed roads, infrastructure, manholes, sewerage pipelines and barriers. The RDA said the action was carried out under the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976, the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations and other applicable laws.
An RDA spokesperson said the authority would continue taking action against illegal construction, unauthorized development and unlawful commercial activities in its controlled areas.
