Pakistan Announces First-Ever Central Contracts for U19 Players

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to introduce central contracts for Pakistan Under-19 players for the first time, aiming to reward strong performances and support the development of young cricketers.

The decision was announced after PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met the Pakistan U19 squad following their impressive tour of England, where they won the four-match one-day series 3-1.

During the meeting, Naqvi interacted with the players individually, praised their performances and encouraged them to continue working hard as they progress in their careers.

Pakistan U19 head coach Shahid Anwar welcomed the move, saying central contracts at the junior level would provide additional motivation to young players.

“Rewarding good performances boosts the confidence of young players, while the encouragement from the PCB chairman is a source of strength for both the players and coaching staff,” Shahid said.

Captain Farhan Yousuf also welcomed the development and highlighted the role of the training camps held in Multan over the past two years. He said the camps had produced positive results and added that meeting the PCB chairman was encouraging for the entire squad.

Farhan said receiving central contracts at the U19 level for the first time was a major source of happiness for the players.

Aliyan Salman said the contracts would improve the players’ confidence and morale while allowing them to focus more on their cricket.

Jahangir Bilal added that the financial support provided through the contracts would also help young cricketers support their families.

Rizwanullah, meanwhile, thanked Naqvi and the PCB, saying the announcement of rewards and central contracts was a major source of encouragement for the players.
