Maaz Sadaqat Creates History With Record-Breaking Century in CPL Final

Pakistan’s Maaz Sadaqat created history with a blistering century for Jamaica Kingsmen in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 final against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at Kensington Oval in Barbados.

The 21-year-old smashed 114 runs from just 58 balls, including eight fours and nine sixes, as Jamaica posted 170-9 in its 20 overs.

With the knock, Sadaqat became the first Pakistani to score a century in the final of a franchise T20 tournament. He also became the first player in CPL history to register a century in the competition’s final.

His 114 is also the highest individual score in a CPL final, surpassing the previous marks set by Lendl Simmons and Brandon King.

It was Sadaqat’s second century of the tournament. He had earlier hammered 112 off 49 balls in the Eliminator, becoming the youngest centurion in CPL history.

The second hundred also made him the first overseas player and only the fourth batter overall to score two centuries in a single CPL season. Dwayne Smith achieved the feat in 2014 and 2017, while Shimron Hetmyer also registered two centuries in the 2026 edition.

Sadaqat finished the tournament with 363 runs from seven matches at an average of 60.50 and a strike rate of 174.52. He was the third-highest run-scorer in the competition.

Despite his record-breaking innings, Jamaica Kingsmen were unable to defend their total. Saim Ayub was the only other batter to make a significant contribution, scoring 29 off 22 deliveries.

Sufiyan Muqeem led the Falcons’ bowling attack with figures of 4-14, while Alzarri Joseph picked up two wickets. Jayden Seales, Shadab Khan, and Shamar Springer took one wicket each.

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons chased down the 171-run target in 16.4 overs for the loss of two wickets to secure an eight-wicket victory and lift the CPL 2026 title.

Amir Jangoo led the chase with 57 off 34 balls, while Hasan Nawaz remained unbeaten on 47 off 35 deliveries to complete the victory with 20 balls to spare.
